Another great use of ambiance sounds and overall dreamy instruments make this song really enjoyable to listen to. I must praise you for the amazing number of things going on on this track at the same time and you dealt with it wonderfully with your mixing.
Really like this track!

GershBeats responds:

The kind words and rating are truly appreciated! I've gotta check your stuff out too soon :)

I dont like the intro it is too long and doesn't offer anything interesting or makes what comes next sound awesome so in my opinion the first 30 seconds are kind of a waste of time and can possibly turn some heads away from the rest of the song.
The song itself has a nice beat although it gets boring kind of fast.
I must say i do like the stop at 2:43 and how the song starts again,
The ending sounds a bit lazy and overlooked.
6/10 The song could have innovated a lot more to keep things fresh and some details could have been fixed.
Overall not bad Axel.

Axel7 responds:

you're pretty damn right!!!

I wasn't fully happy with the song so I started editing it right now too ^__^

Pretty good climatic intro, the song then evolves into an interesting beat while keeping most of the song simple. I like how you introduce new things to the song without making it either invasive or letting the main beat turn boring.
The song has a great feeling and i enjoyed your work GershBeats!!
8.5/10

GershBeats responds:

Thanks very much kind sir!

Im not a fan of R&B but this song is really well produced and your sister has what it takes.
I can totally hear this being played in the radio next to Alicia Keys :D

BlazingDragon responds:

Thanks for the huge compliment! :D

Really peaceful and relaxing song, the solos guitar fit perfectly and complements the chill out style even more, i can also detect a hint of psychedelic there too.
You could have maybe introduce some more changes to the chords used and perhaps make the song a bit longer.
Good work Lemon! 8.5/10

LemonCrush responds:

Thanks so much. I think I was (trying to) channel Hendrix lol

I was going to make it longer, but I felt it'd get a little too repetitive.

This has Zipper all over it, wherever you go you surely leave a mark.
You feature really impressive choice of instruments giving a chilly winter feeling, and the way you composed the song fits perfectly with the vocals.
The vocals are really good, the mixing is perfect and your pitch and tone and spot on, the lyrics however although well written some times are too long for the song itself, thats very noticeable in "there's plenty sunlight" and " perfect for a snowball fight". The creepy approach is also a bold move but kind of expected from you :D.
Good work Zipper!

ZipZipper responds:

Okay I can agree with that! I'm definitely afraid of making a bold move by staying true to who I am for something so genre specific. Ehh...a big thing I got out of reading the outline for the contest was "Christmas carol", so I just had to use my horrendous voice somehow...I'm thinking perhaps it was too much. Oh well. It's not the end of the world...*gulp* Thanks for reviewing Mr. Sexy <3

Really like this song.
It could somewhere along its duration evolve into something more, also the drums feel a bit over simplistic. The chords and the effects in both the voice and the guitar totally get me, i really like the song overall and nice lyrics and vocals.

LemonCrush responds:

Hey thanks a lot man!

I really tried to emulate the original version (from the group I was in a few years ago) and in the process ended up creating something unique, yet still the same feel as the original. Your critque and reviews mean so much! Thanks

The song works very well in its simplistic way, at first the effect you had in the voice seemed a bit exagerated but after listening to it for a while it actually fits the song pretty well.
The vocals however even though they are a bit hidden behind the effects are still noticeably out of tune for most of the song, your voice however has a nice tone and would fit perfectly in the song.
Redo the vocals carefully and you have a nice chilled out track here!

LemonCrush responds:

Thanks for the critique, seriously! Much appreciated.

I hide behind effects because I'm not a good singer, and I kind of hate the way my voice sounds on tape...

I know the vocals are out of tune. And I hesitated releasing this for that reason. But the focus of the song is the feeling/lyrical content, not my performance, you know? My rationale for releasing it was "Well, Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix were bad singers too" lol. I'm working on it though.

Thanks for the critique. I really, really, really appreciate it.

Really smooth and creative. the instruments were picked and mixed in an amazing way and everything fits together just perfect.

BlazingDragon responds:

Thanks! Hopefully my professor agrees with you, lol. :)

Its by playing with our weaknesses that we become stronger and surely composing out of our comfort zone is hard like hell but also fun!
I thing its really hard to remix Gangnam Style without vocals and you did what you could :D
As for the song itself it has all been said by Buoy.

Step responds:

Yeah, I finished this in one night while really tired, since there's a very strict deadline, so that probably didn't make it sound much better. And yeah going out of your comfort zone can be really awesome sometimes. In this case it wasn't but that's probably because I was told to make this rather than have the freedom to make it myself, so rather than willingly make music I was pretty much just following orders. Ah well, it'll be worth it in the end anyway.

Thanks for reviewing man.

Sometimes I make music.
But mostly, I think about making music, fail, get sad and give up.
